| Its time to take a decision ! |
We all know Sachin is a great star.A cricket legend.A man who defined a generation of both young and old to embrace a colonial game.The man of gigantic proportion ,whom India can present very proudly in front of the world and yes we did it for the last 25 years.Over the last few years ,the question that everyone asks ,is the time to retire.And I must confess that our media has done it successfully to make Sachin retire from the ODI's by preasurizing him neck and crop .Now the question is whether the time has arrived to retire from the field too.Appoaching the age of 40 and dip in his form ,Sachin himself will be asking the same question.
The presence of Sachin in the Indian Team is invaluable and the feeling of strength that he gives to Indian dressing room is uncomparable with any other player.But there is another side of the coin,there is a huge talent waiting in the wings to be the generation next of the Indian team.We can never stay away from that talented youngsters for too long.Even former greats such as Kapil Dev has remarked that the time has arrived for Sachin to retire.We all know that the BCCI cannot have a decision of its own in case of Sachin,so we better allow Sachin the time to take a decision .
As I said earlier Sachin has been entertaining us almost for the last 25 years.He has so far played so far 198 tests,a impossible number to break,but the temptation to play 200 tests will be having a strong effects on him to take a decision.Before retiring he played 463 one day internationals too. Sachin has already have a huge share of respect from the cricketing fraternity,all around the globe.Age is the only limit for this batting genius and it should be him to take a decision.
Sachin's retirement calls has gained a stronger voice as India thrashed the Aussies 4-0 ,without any significant contribution from Sachin.The younger generation has now slowly but firmly making their place in the side a permanent.They have doubtlessly proved that the future of Indian cricket is safe in their hands.So it will not easy for the great man to make a choice.Its really tough to get a motivation that keeps you going,and Sachin may find tough to find such a motivation,perhaps the 200 tests?
Its been said that the last test match of the Australian series played at Delhi ,is Sachin's last test match atleast in India,as India plays next test series in South Africa in December and in India only after a year.So its a fact that Sachin will have to take a decision pretty soon.Whatever decision he takes,we the Indian cricket fans will have to accept it.We would love to see you play cricket untill you are no more.But majority says that it will be good if he says his swansong ,right now when his voice is good.Its because we ,your fans love you that much,the country respects you that much,the true legend.
NB:Will I be able to watch the cricket in the same way as I do right now ,without Sachin coming into bat?
